Using GMail to Send E-Mail
Note: We recommend using your e-mail account provided by your
internet service provider (ISP). But if that is not an option you can
use Google's GMail to send e-mail in Chat Watch.
To configure Chat Watch to use GMail to send e-mail please follow the
steps below.
- Open Chat Watch's settings and click on E-Mail Settings.
- In the My E-Mail Address field enter the e-mail address where
you want the logs sent. (This does not have to be your gmail.com
e-mail address.)
- In the SMTP Server field enter smtp.gmail.com.
- In the Port field enter 587. (If you receive a timeout error
using port 587 then use port 465.)
- Select the SMTP server requires SSL encryption option.
- In the User Name field enter your GMail e-mail address (username@gmail.com).
- In the Password field enter your GMail password.
- Select the SMTP server requires SSL encryption option.
To send a test e-mail to verify that your settings are correct click
the Send Test E-Mail button.
