Security
You must be an authenticated user to run Chat Watch 5. The following
are the methods in which Chat Watch 5 can authenticate users. To access
these options open Chat Watch's settings and click Security.
Use Windows authentication. (Recommended)
When Chat Watch
5 starts the user will have to provide a valid Windows
account user name and password.
Allow access to all Administrator users.
If
this option is selected, all users of the computer who are Administrator
users (not Limited Users on Windows XP or Restricted Users on Windows
2003) will be granted access to Chat Watch 5.
Use custom password.
If this option is
selected anyone who provides the correct password will be granted access
to Chat Watch 5.
Use token file authentication.
If selected, Chat
Watch 5 will create a 'token' file which will be used to
grant access to Chat Watch 5. To create a token file click the
Create Token button. The token file authentication option is very similar to
the custom password option, however, the "password" in this option
is a file (the token file). The file can be stored on any medium but
we recommend using
a portable USB storage device. Floppy drives are not particularly
recommended as they can eventually wear out over time and because
some newer computers do not even have floppy drives.
Re-installing Chat
Watch 5 will cause the existing token file to be
invalid. A unique token value is created during installation.
