Reports
Chat Watch 5 allows you to make a PDF document of the chat logs. To
access the report options click Reports from the Tools menu. The
Reports dialog will be shown. The Reports dialog has two tabs described below:
Report Format
On this tab you can select the format of the report. The available
formats are:
- Adobe Acrobat PDF
- Microsoft Word DOC
- Microsoft Excel XLS
- Web Page HTML
- Image GIF
- Image BMP
- Image JPG
- Image TIFF
The Adobe Acrobat PDF format is recommended. Depending on the format
selected various options will be presented. If Adobe Acrobat PDF is
selected the available options are:
- Document Security - Protect the PDF document with a password.
You can select to use either 40-bit or 128-bit
encryption. The password you choose will be required each time the
created report is opened.
- Format Specific Options - Compress the PDF document to save
space. Compression reduces the size of the report but may also
reduce quality. Using compression is recommended if the report you
are generating has many pages.
If Microsoft Word DOC is selected the available options are:
- Format Specific Options - Choose whether you want the document
formatted for Ease of Editing or for Positional Accuracy.
If you want to edit the report after creating it select Ease of
Editing. If not, Positional Accuracy is recommended.
Note: If you create a multi-page report and you select an
image format, a separate image file will be created for each page of
the report. The file names of the images will have the following
format (if you select report.jpg as the name of the report):
-
report.jpg will be the first page of
the report.
-
report0002.jpg will be the second page
of the report.
-
report0003.jpg will be the third page
of the report.
-
report0004.jpg will be the fourth page
of the report.
-
And so on...
Each image file will be saved in the folder you choose for the
report. Due to the size and quality of the images, the image formats
will produce significantly larger files.
Report Contents
On the Report Contents tab you can select which chat logs you want to
include in the report. You can select chats based on any combination of
when the chats occurred, a keyword in the chats, what user of the
computer made the chat, the category the chat has been assigned to,
whether the chat may be considered offensive, or whether the chat log
has been read.
To create the report click the Create Report button. You will
be asked where to save the report. Once the report has been created you
will be able to view it.
